In the following weeks, Jun, as a marquis, was granted a city beyond the area where he usually spent his time. It wasn't far from where they normally lived, but he needed to make the most of this city called Gaotang.

Gaotang was a small, independent city with convenient transportation and a well-developed economy. However, its forest resources were scarce. With its limited income and additional donations, the forestry station seemed much more desolate compared to the mansion located at the center of the city.

Jun entered the mansion, which was much cozier than the cave-like dwelling within his mountain estate.

"This place is huge." Vera couldn't understand why this city had been handed over to Jun for his oversight.

"I don't have time for these things. I'm someone who prefers to live in harmony with nature." Jun had no desire to act as a ruler in this city.

It wasn't his style. He was more passionate about providing the villages with the peace they needed to live without fear.

Everyone took from the mountains, the forests, and nature only what they needed to survive.

A city was an entirely different matter, something Jun wasn't prepared to manage.

"The boy who lost his foot a few weeks ago in the village near the lake can help you profit from this city." Vera accompanied Jun this time, as he had come mainly because he wanted to have a conversation with the King of Qin.

The king was close to this city, so as a stopover, Jun would take over the city, first sending guards to protect it properly.

"The smell is unbearable."

"It's not that bad. We just need to plant more trees." Trevor didn't understand why Jun complained so much about the odors, especially after spending a year in confinement with his own waste.

Cities had one advantage, and that was their infrastructure. Jun could leverage this to trade clothing, medicine, household items, and much more.

Jun would establish this city as a sales hub for his inventions, but he wouldn't stay here to run it himself. He would find a suitable person for the job, a merchant he trusted to generate income.

"Trevor, where's Liu?" Jun had a few guards helping him, all from the Asura Village, and they weren't supposed to be here.

Liu was one of them. He, along with the twins, were Jun's connections outside of Asura Village, and in a way, they served him.

As a Black Moon, Jun had certain privileges that allowed him to be seen with the status he truly held.

"I think he's buying sweets."

"Have we started buying the city's slaves?"

"All of them. We're focusing on the healthy ones for the army and the sick ones for the recovery program."

Jun nodded and then walked toward the hall where the servants awaited him. "I just hope no one underestimates my rank because of my age."

"That's inevitable."

"I know. That's why I won't stay long."
