Sun Chan nodded: "Oh, that's how it is. Be careful, you're unfamiliar with the place, I'm worried about you." The clothes in the south are indeed more fashionable than those in the north. If they could be brought back, they'd make money.

"Are you going or not? I'll take you." Han Dong suddenly looked up and said: "You don't have much to do, right? You can leave the fruit to Yang Liu to sell for two days. It's not much. Even if you close the shop for two days, it wouldn't matter."

"But I still need to study."

"Just take those two books with you." Han Dong laughed: "Are you afraid to go?"

When she first met Sun Miao, she thought she was an eerie woman; turns out she was right, but it's others' business, and she didn't want to comment.

After dinner, Yang Zhen said goodbye, and Han Dong picked up his coat: "I'll walk with you."

Yang Zhen felt touched, nodded and smiled. With them being so casual, she couldn't dwell on it.

Before leaving, Han Dong said to Sun Chan: "Discuss it with Gu Junming. Before you leave, I'll come to find you."

"Okay. I'll think about it." Sun Chan laughed.

She considered it; she had more than five hundred bucks now. If she could get some clothes, maybe she could make some money. Even if not, going out to see the world would be nice.

Han Dong and Yang Zhen left together, occasionally joking along the way. It was nice.

Yang Zhen said: "You really are a special person."

Han Dong laughed: "Don't fall in love with me, I know I'm handsome, but if you fall in love with me, that's no good."

Yang Zhen laughed too: "Okay, I won't like you."

Han Dong yawned: "Ah, so empty. I really need to earn more money to be a wealthy and handsome tycoon."

He said, striding forward. Yang Zhen pursed her lips and smiled behind him.

That evening, Gu Junming came back. Sun Chan opened the door to see him covered in dust.

"What happened?"

"Hmm, we went to carry some sand and cement today."

"Were you heading to the quake area?"

"Yes. It's the start of spring, and reconstruction needs to begin." Gu Junming took off his clothes, handed them to Sun Chan, and went to wash up. He sat down and ate five pancakes and a large bowl of shredded potatoes.

Sun Chan soaked his outer clothes in a basin, since he had a day off tomorrow and didn't need to wear his military uniform. There were some of Gu Junming's clothes here, so she found a shirt for him.

As she washed clothes, she talked to him about the Su Miao incident. Gu Junming frowned slightly.

"Not everyone can get into a defense factory; Su Miao has a strong background, yet she's not military-related, surprisingly got in."

Defense factory workers usually are families of military personnel; the salary and benefits are high. Su Miao getting in was obviously irregular.

But Gu Junming didn't want to bother since it had nothing to do with them.

"Su Miao isn't good; it's best not to have contact if possible."

Sun Chan said: "Hmm, she never bothered me."

"Let's not talk about her."

Sun Chan nodded and mentioned Han Dong's plan to take her to Shenzhen: "Do you think I should go?"

"Do you want to go?" Gu Junming looked up at her.

Sun Chan smiled and didn't deny it.

"If you want to go, go. Is the money enough?" Gu Junming said: "I have money in my savings account."

Sun Chan hesitated, smiled: "I thought you'd be upset"

"Because you're going alone with Han Dong? Don't worry, I trust him, he won't."

"What do you want? I'll buy something back for you."

Gu Junming walked over, ruffled her hair with a smile: "No need, take care of yourself. It's good to gain experience before marriage."

Sun Chan blushed and continued washing clothes. Gu Junming helped wring out the clothes and hang them up.

Gu Junming glanced at his watch: "It's late, I should head back. Sleep well."

Sun Chan didn't speak, saw Gu Junming off at the door, wanting him to stay but remembered last time and didn't say it.

Gu Junming smiled: "I'll come over early tomorrow. We can sell fruit together, and I'll help you with some problems."

Sun Chan nodded: "Then have breakfast here, I'll make you dumpling soup."

"Alright." Gu Junming hugged Sun Chan and turned to leave.

Sun Chan felt a burst of happiness, closed the door.

Meanwhile, Su Miao, whom they discussed, was doing well, watching TV in a spacious room.

Although working at the defense factory with her dorm room, Su Miao was used to comfort and wouldn't live there, so Zhao Yingjun rented her a nearby apartment—a one-bedroom unit. It's small but enough, and she had some things to avoid others knowing, staying farther away was better.
