As Corey looked at his status, he was somewhat baffled and lost when he saw how long the status screen was. When he saw the system remark, he was baffled the more.

'Why was the system making snarky remarks at him?'

Although he doesn't read so much novels and manga, he has a read a novel where the main character had something like a status screen and the contents of the status screen was definitely not as much as this and it definitely did not have a system remark which made fun of him.

There were so many things on it that sort of confused him like the tier, his talent/gift, his skill and what it meant by 'unawakened'.

He tried to touch the word Tier since he knew that in some games, you find information on a certain word on your status screen by clicking on that word.

But when he touched it,

He touched it again

No change on the screen.

"What kind of shitty Universal System is this?! At least explain to me what a few of this means?!"

Corey cursed angrily and kept on tapping on the word 'Tier' but no matter how many times he tapped it, it did not change a single thing.

He cursed once again, then tried to tap 'Omniscience'.

He expected it not to work but surprisingly the screen changed. A surprised expression appeared on Corey's face, then he read the contents on the screen.

"Hmm. Sounds great and all but how the fuck am I meant to survive against people that wished to be gods, devils and all those cheat anime characters! Can my wisdom give me the ability to kill a fucking Smiley?!"

Corey gritted his teeth in anger as he read the description of his talent.

The system made it sound so cool and awesome but his talent could not give him the ability to kill a fucking Smiley! Talk less of the terrible monsters in the sealed rooms.

"My wish would definitely be the end of me!"

Corey lamented then looked at the word 'Unawakened' which was beside 'Omniscience' and 'Level'. He tapped the one that was beside 'Omniscience' but nothing changed. He then tapped the one beside 'Level', but nothing changed also.

"What should I expect from a stupid system."

Corey sneered and did not try again. He was tired of the system.

He looked at his talent skill 'Record' and tapped on it.

'You better show me a description cause I don't know what this means at all.'

Corey hoped and was half expecting the system to behave like how it usually does- Useless.

But surprisingly, the screen changed and a description was shown.

[RECORD: A passive skill which records everything in front of your eyes into your brain. You can view the recorded events anytime and the skill analyses the stats of anybody as long as the difference in tier is not greater than 1. The longer the time of record, the more detailed the statistics of the individual.]

After Corey read the contents, his shoulders slumped and an expression of despair appeared on his face.

"I knew that my talent would be useless in protecting myself but I was hoping that it would maybe give me an ability I can use to protect myself, but, but, but…"

Corey gritted his teeth as his eyes read the description once again.

"This won't help me in protecting jack shit! It can't even kill a fucking Smiley!"

Corey exhaled and inhaled deeply for a few seconds before looking at the dagger on his lap.

"Please don't disappoint me my baby."

Corey rubbed it a few times then looked at the equipment section of his status screen. He tapped the only equipment he had, 'Ghost Reaper'.

And surprisingly it worked.

Corey looked at the status screen with a surprised expression and read the contents on the screen.

[GHOST REAPER: A red grade dagger inscribed with the ability to harm and kill ghost like entities below tier 1.]

As Corey read the description of ghost reaper, his breath stopped and his eyes widened.

"Fuck yes!"

Corey shouted with joy and relief. He even picked up the dagger and kissed it affectionately.

"Hahahahaha. I'm safe now. I have a way to kill Smileys."

Corey laughed so loud that if not for his luck and the fact that the Smiley's can sense the auras of the terrible monsters locked in the rooms where Corey was, he would be killed due to the number of Smileys he would have to face, which was in fact not a lot, at all.

Corey not knowing how lucky he was, stood up and held the dagger tightly. He wanted to throw the kitchen knives away since it could not kill a Smiley, but he eventually decided not to.

'Having more than one weapon is safer.'

Corey thought and decided to hide the knife on the other side of waist, opposite where he kept the second knife.

"I hope I'm not forgetting something."

Corey muttered, then looked at the status screen to make sure he didn't forget anything.

His eyes went to his record ability. He was curious about what he recorded but since he knew it would not help him at the moment, he decided to check it out later.

He checked the status screen once again and his eyes were drawn to the Brand Level at the basic information section of his status.

"I totally forgot to check that out."

Corey scratched his head and tapped the word, trying to get a description from it, but the Universal System was the Universal System and what was it?

Useless

"Useless piece of garbage." Corey cursed the Universal System when nothing changed after tapping 'Brand Level'.

He was not shocked, just annoyed at how useless the system was.

Corey put his dagger in front of his face and kissed it.

"You're the only one I can rely on."

He kissed it once again.

"From now on, I'm gonna call you Smile Reaper. I don't care what the Universal System calls you."

Corey said with a smile and strapped his bag properly. He then walked towards the stairs.

"Now let's go wipe out the smiles from those Smileys."

A dangerous smile appeared on Corey's face.
