Though everyone was chiding her, Su Lin looked far from bursting into tears. She had a mysterious gleam in her eyes.

This much was not enough. She needed more. She needed more and more negative cruel criticisms to come her way.

Su Lin wanted to get a boatload of negative attention, so she could be realistically down and depressed for the next few days.

One way to obtain investors for a startup company would be to write up a viable business plan, take out some loan, run the prototype version of the company for a month or two, show the company's progress, and sweep the investors off of their feet in a formal business meeting.

But Su Lin was trying this new method called emotional blackmailing.

Not that she didn't want to work hard and impress the old man with her business acumen.

But no matter how many figures and graphs she throws at the old man, she doubted if he would ever take her seriously!

Besides, this method was much more fun and manipulative, just the way she liked it!

These big shots and heavyweights might be harshly criticizing her now, but later if they find out that the old man is actually investing in her fledgling company, they wouldn't hesitate to join the queue and invest in her business as well.

Since money is something she sorely lacked right now, Su Lin had to resort to these various methods to get a jump start in her new venture.

She wouldn't have to unnecessarily let these people wag their tongues and be forced to listen to all these shameless hypocritic remarks.

While Su Lin was happily listening to all the criticisms and taunts coming her way, patiently waiting for the old man to respond or mama Meng to hype things up more, so that she could finally leave this banquet shedding 'tears', unexpectedly a faint voice murmured near her.

"I am impressed." A tall dashing blonde figure was standing next to her, err… actually leaning close to her and whispering in her ears.

Slightly startled, Su Lin backed up a couple of steps. She noticed the familiar facial features and awkwardly smiled.

She indeed recognized the man standing in front of her. She had met him a while back in the shopping mall.

And no one could forget the pair of beautiful seductive blue eyes. But, what is he doing here?

"Hello. I am Robert Hissenger." The foreigner murmured with an obvious accent, extend his hand to greet her.

"Hi. I am Su Lin." Su Lin nodded and shook hands with him.

But surprisingly, the chaos and commotion around her suddenly quieted down. Su Lin was confused.

She might not know who Robert Hissenger was, but all these big shots and business heavyweights knew exactly who he was.

From the looks of it, the magician of the business world had silently slipped into the party and blended into the crowd without attracting much attention.

Otherwise, the man would have been completely swarmed by the crowd of ass kissers by now.

And now that, he had willingly walked onto the spotlight shining on Su Lin, gasps echoed in the crowd.

But why is such a big man talking to this charlatan? The vicious tongues that were wagging non-stop just a few seconds ago, criticizing Su Lin left and right, suddenly stopped, as everyone's ears were glued on to this small conversation happening between the prince and the toad.

Ignoring the prying eyes on their personal conversation, Robert charmingly smiled and spoke in his gentle melodious voice. "I think your product has a lot of potential."

He returned Su Lin's moisturizer bottle to her and gave her a thumbs up.

"We should meet soon and discuss potential collaborations."

His hands slipped into his pant pockets and retrieved a business card, which he then passed over to Su Lin.

Su Lin nodded, still dumbstruck by this unexpected harvest.

She really didn't think that someone in this party would actually give her the benefit of doubt and consider the potential of her product.

Grandpa Su immediately walked over to Su Lin and Robert, beaming with joy and pride.

He had only sent an invitation to the Hissenger family out of courtesy because he knew they were currently in the city.

But he had not expected the famous young heir of the Hissenger corporation to personally attend his birthday banquet.

This was an amazing chance for the Su family!

If they manage to forge a solid relationship with the Hissenger corporation, then they can smoothly expand into the international market, making several thousand-fold higher profits than their current level.
