Su Lin slowly walked out of the hospital. She felt very weak and lethargic and would have preferred to rest for at least a couple more days.

She sat down on an empty bench near the hospital entrance.

Thanks to her hot-headed vindictive husband, she didn't have any money left to check back into her hotel. He had dealt the perfect blows to her.

She had only barely taken care of her life-threatening illness, but the man attacked her already. He didn't even give her some breathing room to enjoy her new life and new world.

Su Lin absent-mindedly gazed at the traffic in front of the hospital building entrance and muttered to herself.

"I did not even make a single move and the opponent has already made ten moves."

But surprisingly, the woman was not frustrated. Rather she was amused. Her eyes had a mysterious twinkle in them.

"Fool me once, shame on you. But fool me twice, I will anger you to death." Su Lin chuckled.

She casually took out her phone and scrolled through her contacts, until her eyes landed on a particular contact number.

Su Lin's smile widened. She selected the contact and placed a call. And just as she had expected, the call immediately went through.

An old man's anxious voice sounded through the phone. "What happened child? I was just about to call you. Su Han just now showed me the news alert."

"What happened suddenly? How can that brat treat you like this??"

"I will go over there right now and beat some sense into him. You don't worry child." Grandpa Su blabbered hurriedly, with anxiety and panic apparent in his voice.

He was a very good friend of Shi Meng's late grandfather and a well-wisher of the family. The Shi family and the Su family were quite close as well.

Grandpa Su had met Su Lin several times in the past, and he was even quite fond of the sweet and innocent girl.

He often joked about how their family names matched coincidentally and thought of her as his own daughter.

"I am alright, Grandpa Su. Please don't worry." Su Lin answered calmly with gentleness in her tone.

Though she didn't personally know the old man, from her memories she knew that he had treated the old Su Lin quite well. And that was what she was counting on right now.

She wouldn't have preferred using this method, but her asshole ex-husband did not leave her any other option.

"How can I not worry child? How is your health? Where are you right now? Come over to the villa immediately. We will talk in person."

After getting the details, Grandpa Su hung up the call and quickly sent a car over to pick up Su Lin.

And with the first stage of her plan, executed smoothly, Su Lin grinned satisfactorily and basked in the warm glow of the sun.

"He He. Wait till you hear about this, my dear ex." She could almost see the man's face contorting with anger and that pleased her.

Starting from scratch is always difficult. In any society, you need at least some money to make more money.

Su Lin had previously planned to keep using her Mrs. Shi status to get a few things rolling but Shi Meng tactfully made sure that she couldn't do that.

Did he really think that she wouldn't have a backup plan?

Unknown to Su Lin, a pair of eyes had been constantly watching her, ever since she stepped outside the hospital.

A black Maserati was obnoxiously parked in the no-parking zone nearby and Shi Meng calmly sat inside, staring at Su Lin with an intensity.

"What the hell is she up to now?" he murmured.

"Maybe the powerful family supporting her dropped her, once they realized she has been compromised?"Assistant Yang suggested cautiously.

Both he and the driver exchanged pitiful looks. They just wanted to get down from the car and stretch. This continuous surveillance madness could not end soon enough for them!

"Hmmm... Maybe... " Shi Meng murmured with his eyes still eyes glued onto Su Lin.

After a few minutes, under the watchful eyes of Shi Meng, a car arrived and picked up Su Lin. He immediately perked up and noted down the license plate of the car.

"Follow them." Shi Meng then ordered his driver.

After driving for a few minutes, the car arrived on a very familiar street.

"Ah. Isn't this..." Assistant Yang hesitated to speak up. His boss looked really scary right now. The temperature inside the car had already dropped to the sub-zeros.

"It is indeed the Su family's mansion." Shi Meng nodded with a solemn expression on his face.

He had known Grandpa Su and their entire family for a very long time and both their families had close ties. There was no way Grandpa Su would ever plot against the Shi family.

So there was only one reason Su Lin was here. She was going to put on her innocent act again and swindle some more money!!
