"What do you mean?"

The captain glares at me with a oni look. She looks scary because of her right mechanical eye but this is not the time to worry about that. Now then, how can I explain this… I don't think she will believe me even if I say I got the idea from my previous life. She must be trying to figure out what I am thinking.

However, given the scale of how New World do their thing. I'm probably correct on what I am thinking. Ma~ Right now, I need to explaining those to Captain.

"Captain, did you know that Germany had a large submarine fleet during the Second World War?"

"I know but the world war ended quickly so most of the submarine have been barely used. So what about it?"

"Germany tried to make a base for its submarine fleet on Antarctica but the information was leaked to the Allied Forces. A strategy to attack the base was planned and United States was the Main Force. It was known as Operation High Jump"

The captain took a bottle of water, drink from it and nodded to urge me to continue.

"However, as the Captain said the war ended quickly. The fleet was never used and it is also rumored that the submarine base was never been built but even so, United States still sent their army in there…"

In this world where there is no Cold War, there is no need for soldiers to undergo 'Antarctic Field Training' unlike in my previous world. Even if there is a reason for training, there is no need to send soldiers to Antarctica and have unnecessary expenses.

"Did they take over the base?"

"I do not know. I'm not sure if they took over the base or continue its construction… but whatever it is, I'm positive there is a base in that place and I'm sure that base is New World's Headquarters"

"What makes you so sure?"

"They need a place where Mom, Dad, Noah and United Nation cannot find them… Don't you think it's the perfect place? They will be able to accommodate at least as many people as Noah, they can build an underground facility where reconnaissance satellite cannot detect them. The place is also perfect for New World to accommodate large troops of attack submarine."

"Then, United States is conspiring with New World?"

"I'm not sure but it is possible that they have people within the higher ups of United States. There are also other Observation Bases of other countries in there so it is possible that United States is not the only traitor. If we at least want to know the goal of New World, I think this thinking is worth considering"

I do not understand the goal of New World. If they want to kill me, they can just hire snipers who can shoot me from great distance. Same with their purpose when they kidnapped Alice and we were able to escape. Even now, they are half halfheartedly attacking and not with all of their power.

This could be a problem that my simple brain is unable to figure out. I should have listened to mom when she offered to take care of everything. Maybe because of the fatigue caught up to me, I suddenly felt dizzy and sat on a nearby pipe chair. The captain asked while lighting a cigar.

"On your question earlier, you said 'US of this world'. What does that mean?"

It shouldn't be a problem if I told people about more surprise details of my life for the last time.

"Captain, have you read the research documents of Dr. Sandra?"

The Captain was frozen for few seconds but then she suddenly began to laugh with a loud voice. I guess she doesn't believe me? Everything I said was true but if I imagine the Captain saying 'Are you messing with me?' with that appearance, I'm confident I will leak while she is yelling at me

"Kukuku, Hahahaha!! I see, so that's why. Now I know the reason why they are calling you a monster. You have the same 'another world' theory as Sandra and test it on yourself. Your birth destination is Arakawa Miki, the most excellent scientist in 'this world'. You are already a genius but you are learning more from another genius in this world.

That's why you are called a 'monster'"

"Ah, no, Captain──"

"No need. You don't have to say anything else. I can see in your face that you want to hide this secret and you have yet told your parents? I assure you in my honor, I will never tell anyone about this"

──What should I do? The Captain convinced herself with her own misunderstanding and is happily nodding but if I say 'No, I am just a normal person' right now, I think she will yell at me but I really think I should tell her the truth.

While I was desperately thinking in my heart on what to say, the smile on the Captain vanished and took out her gun from the holster while staring at the vent.

"Enemy… is it?"

"I don't know, stay back"

I move behind the Captain while still looking into the vent through her shoulders. We then heard a voice from inside the vent.

"I will go down now, please do not shoot"

I heard a voice in Russian but with bad English accent. This voice seems familiar. We heard a noise then a bag was thrown down to the ground. The vent was old so the woman who came down was rather dirty. When I saw the face of the woman, I unexpectedly raised my voice.

"Claire-san!?"

"Yes, that's right. Kouki-kun, how dare you escape from me. Because of you, I've been swimming through the sea and exploring the caves. Let's return quickly so I can take a shower."

It's been 2 days since I saw Claire-san. With the usual smile on her face, she was wearing Noah's combat uniform, different from her usual suit, and appeared before me──

Author Notes: Someone now know the secret of Kouki. I'd like to thank your understanding on why it was the Captain instead of the heroine Alice-chan.
